Last year I made my debut as part of the media team of Awakenings Festival in Amsterdam and it was incredible!

I really enjoyed working together with amazing photographers as part of the photo crew which was hosted by the amazing Huybert and Brenda of the Photo Company NL. So it does not have to be mentioned that I have been looking forward to make my way up from Vienna to Amsterdam for a very long time!

Day I – Back at Area W!

Last year I was already assigned to Area W, one of the mainstages with an incredible stage design. This year, they adapted the design, and even topped it if you ask me.

Great artists like Giegling’s Konstantin, Seth Troxler b2b Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and for the Grand Finale Amsterdam’s very own Joris Voorn b2b Kölsch delivered some amazing sets and created a very fitting atmosphere for a hot festival day like this. I loved the vibe at my stage, so I basically enjoyed staying around Area W for pretty much most of the day, only doing some small trips to see Amelie Lens playing at area X or the massive wooden monster Area V.

Day II – In the Techno Tent!

On Day 2, I was assigned to Area Z. A long tent, not much light and the sun heating up the venue to a ridiculous temperature.

Perfect conditions for a thriving techno party!

Amsterdam locals Albert van Abbe and Sterac warmed up the tent, before Attention Deficit Disorder took over with their huge live set up. Like last year, the tent was packed the very latest before Dax J entered the DJ booth. The very sympathic Sam Paganini took over and for the Finale Techno queen Nina Kraviz closed the stage in style!

Of course I couldn’t resist discovering the festival venue to see other great artists to the ones playing at stage Z. I ende up seeing great performances by Stephan Bodin, Amelie Lens at the main stage, Pan Pot and many more!

As I am kind of catching up with blog posts, next up will be Homerun Festival and, after a one year break, Love Family Park at its new venue in Rüsselsheim! July was all about festivals!
